Meet Aries- He is a male cat with GORGEOUS long-fur and yellow eyes. He is 4 years old & needs a stable and loving home.

PERSONALITY:: Aries is such a sweet cat that really loves attention, being pet, and held. (See video). He will roll around for more attention and jump on the sink when I come into his room for attention.
Aries was adopted as a tiny kitten back in 2020, but recently returned to us because he peed outside his litter box. We tried speaking with owner to get the cat eating wet food (he was on dry food only) , and gave her a plan of action to solve this, but she didn’t take our advise well unfortunately. He hasn’t had ANY mistakes at our rescue and uses it consistently. He has a nice big cat box also which he likes.

We have had him back 2 weeks and slowly transitioned him off of the dry food (so hungry enough to eat his wet) and is now eating FRISKIES pate SALMON wet food twice a day (we are trying to figure out other kinds too than just Salmon). ****read below why wet food is VITAL to our cats health and why these issues may have started eating dry food only.*****

Bad habits- some cats when they get scared hide and coward, while some cats will swat or bite. Aries will swat when scared, but has gotten use to me and does not. He has swat at my kids feet if he is hiding under cabinetry in the bathroom. And my kids feet frighten him.
He just needs to feel safe and secure and will not do this. So time is needed to properly adjust. When speaking to owner she stated he NEVER DID this with them (her and her 15 year old daughter). However, getting his nails trimmed at vet will cause him to do this.
**** We think Aries would do best in a stable home with NO SMALL children . He was use to a small dog in his last home but it sure about cats as he grew up as only one .
He just really thrives for attention! And will also drool a bit when extra happy! He loves to be brushed

(More on wet food) Pease remember; our cats have a low thirst drive and NEED the moisture in the wet food. Since wet food is 75% moisture and dry food only 10%, that is huge for our felines. Cats need wet food daily to avoid a lot of dehydration related medical problems long term like urinary tract issues which can lead to litter box ovoidance and kidney disease or obesity issues linked to diabetes..
Some cats can get pain from a slight urinary tract infection while using their litter box & start urinating in other areas that they feel would cause less pain …

****How much?**** At least one (3oz. can a day but 2 cans recommended) or 1/2 of a 5oz. Can of Friskies pate wet food a day (although one full can, half in morning and other half at night, is recommended ).
