My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Poptart!

The delightful 5-year-old Bulldog mix weighing 54lbs, with a heart as sweet as her name suggests! Poptart is ready to bring joy and laughter into your home, becoming your loyal and affectionate companion.
Poptart is a super sweet lady who loves nothing more than meeting new people and showering them with love and affection. Although she can be a bit sensitive at times, a squeaky toy is all it takes to lift her spirits and bring out her playful side. With her zest for life and love of play, Poptart is sure to bring endless joy into your home.

If there are children in her forever home, Poptart would do well with kids aged 10 and up. Her gentle nature and playful demeanor make her the perfect companion for children, providing endless entertainment and love.
Poptart can be a bit hesitant around other dogs, but with a slow introduction, she shows great potential to form friendships with her furry companions. With patience and proper introductions, she's sure to enjoy the company of other dogs and make new friends along the way.

Poptart's future home will be one filled with love, laughter, and plenty of playtime as she continues to bring joy into the lives of her new family. With the right match, she's sure to become an integral part of the family and bring happiness to all.

Ready to welcome the sweet and playful spirit of Poptart into your life? Call 330-487-0333 ext 226 to schedule an appointment and provide her with the loving and caring home she deserves. Your forever friend is just a call away!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
