My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello everyone, my name is Auntie Orange. I'm a 7 year old lady that has captured the hearts of all with my loving personality and expert biscuit making skills. After being abandoned, I had to learn to care for myself on the streets and, unfortunately, contracted FIV that has resulted in me having some dental issues. I was scared and lonely for a while, until the amazing people of SGVHS took me in. They quickly took care of my issues and since then I have been shown more love and care than I could have possibly dreamed of. Despite being left alone and contracting this virus that will be with me till my last day, I have never stopped trusting and loving everyone with my whole heart. Being with my friends at SGVH has been a blessing and so much fun, but I'm ready to give all this happiness to my future family. And, honestly, I also want to be pampered and spoiled. I think I deserve it! Especially since I'd be best suited to a single cat household. If you are ready to give all your love and care to this sweet little lady, please give the front office a call and ask to meet with Auntie Orange. I can't wait to meet you, my forever family.

More about this shelter

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society (SGVHS) was founded by Fannie Thompson Kessler in 1924.

For almost 100 years, the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society has provided a variety of services to the local communities. Currently we serve the cities of San Gabriel, Temple City and Duarte.

We provide food, shelter and medical care to hundreds of dogs and cats who are stray and homeless, or have been rescued from abusive conditions or relinquished by their owners.

Please consider giving one of our animals a forever home. If you’re looking to adopt a life-long furry companion, we invite you to visit our Shelter!
