Doug loves people, playing, giving kisses, and can be a cuddle bug. He is a 3 year-old mutt: 34.5% American pit bull terrier, 25.4% Australian cattle dog, 13.2% mini/MAS type Australian shepherd, 11.4% Australian shepherd, 8.6% American Staffordshire terrier, and 6.9% supermutt, whatever that is. Tan and white, just over 40#. Originally a rescue from a kill shelter in Texas, he is sweet but still has anxiety and can be reactive when he is jealous or is concerned with his resources (toys, food, attention). He will likely be happier in a quiet home where he is the only pet - he fights with our older dog. He does not like loud sounds - loud vehicles, firecrackers - and that can quickly make him want to return home if on a walk. He isn't yippy but he will let you know if someone is at the door or the mail has been dropped off. He will sit, is not great about staying, and still gets excited when someone comes over but calms down. Loves being close but at his discretion.
