My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Leon came from a home that really loved him, but their dog didn't love him so much. He is about 9 months old and is a super friendly boy. He is getting along great with his foster kitty siblings as well as the foster dog who is a smaller dog. Leon plays with the other cats, but knows when to back off if one of them doesn't want to join in. He happily moves on to something else. He is a unique cat with a lot of confidence and nothing scares him. He will likely fit right into almost any home quickly, but would do best in a home with another playful kitty. He needs the activity and social aspect of a kitty sibling.

He is very social and will let you know vocally if he wants your attention. He plays hard and sleeps hard. He is a very smart kitty and likes to play with the ball spin tower and crinkly balls and he loves to chase the laser.

He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. His adoption fee is $50 and you will receive all his medical records. Thank you for considering Leon!

Adopters in the Spokane area can expect to meet the pet during the homecheck. Others will arrange a meet and greet.

To apply to adopt one of our available animals or for any other inquiries, email information@murcismission.org or message us here!

Once your application has been received, we will evaluate it as a potential match for the given animal and, if your application is selected, we will proceed to call your references and then conclude with a home check and meet and greet scheduled by you at your home. For applicants out of area, the home check may be conducted via video call before the meet and greet.

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
