My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! My name is Brownie, and I'm a 4-year-old Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull mix searching for my forever family. I've got plenty of love and loyalty to give to the right home. My foster family says I'm great with kids of all ages! I'm super smart, too, and I love nothing more than belly rubs and gazing out the window, watching the world go by.

One thing you'll notice about me is that I'm very smart. I've never had an accident in the house, and I take my medicine with no issues - just pop it in a treat and I'll gobble it right up! Speaking of treats, I go crazy for peanut butter in my Kong toy and I adore squeaky toys.

While I can be a bit anxious at times, I thrive on routine and knowing what to expect each day. I'm not a huge fan of being outside on my own, but with a fenced yard, I'll happily go out to do my business and maybe chase away a squirrel or two. Once I'm done, though, I much prefer to be back inside with my humans.

I'm not sure about cats just yet, but I'm willing to give them a chance depending on their personality. As for sleeping arrangements, I don't need to be crated - I know where my room is, and I'll happily go there when it's bedtime or when my humans need to step out.

When it comes to walks, I'm a dream on the leash. Sure, I might get a little excited if I see a squirrel or another dog, but I'm always ready to listen to my humans. I especially love to run at the end of my walks, but don't worry - I won't drag you along. I'll happily match your pace and enjoy the fresh air together.

I hope to meet you soon!

Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
