Stanley is a rambunctious puppy who came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue after the people he was with were no longer able to care for him. He was pretty little then, but he’s a fast-growing boy who is looking for his forever home! We were told that Stanley is likely a Husky mix of some kind, and we think that’s right based on his affinity for talking and verbalizing! When he is fully grown, we estimate Stanley will be around 50 lbs.

This sweet boy is all play all day. He is active, playful, rambunctious, and curious. He loves toys of every kind - the squeaky ones for wrestling, the round ones for keep away, and the rubber ones for chewing. However, when the weather is nice, the backyard is his favorite place for sniffing, play hunting, and finding sticks.

When playtime is over, he will zonk out just about anywhere but is most cozy in his crate. He sleeps through the night in his crate too without much issue. If given the choice though, he would love to snooze on the couch next to you or in your lap. He’s so soft and snuggly, so his foster mom is soaking it up while he’s little.

His foster family has been working on some training with him such as learning to play bite lightly (a work in progress), walking on a leash (he’s getting better!) and knowing what “no” means (doing pretty good!) . He seems quite smart, learns quickly, and takes direction and diversion well.

In his foster home, Stanley is good with dogs and cats, though he is still learning about body language and boundaries. He would do great in a home with another playful dog who can teach him more! We’ve also had Stanley around kids, and he totally matches their energy, though he still sometimes can play a bit rough, so we think a home without very young children would be best. He needs a family who will continue training and exposure to new experiences to ensure he grows up to be a resilient and happy companion for years to come!

Keep in mind puppies are a LOT of work, he will need continued house training, work on walking on leash and of course at least the basics. A puppy class is a great way to bond and learn new things. Positive rewards training only!

If you think Stanley would be an energetic and fun addition to your family, fill out an application today.

Go meet their pets

We do not have a facility but depend on the use of foster homes to provide loving temporary homes for the dogs we save. You can meet each pet through it's contact information on it's posting.

More about this rescue

We are a group of animal lovers banded together to rescue unwanted dogs and cats that are in shelters and pounds located throughout Idaho. Our non-profit rescue places each animal into our foster home program while we search for forever homes for them. We supply all vet care, food, toys, bedding; really anything they need while in our care.

We focus on those animals that are considered “hard to adopt” for various reasons; like kennel stress, having a black coat, being over 8 years old, etc. Often a foster home rather than a shelter environment helps give many of these animals a second chance at the life they deserve!

We relay on community donations and individuals willing to be foster care givers in order to continue our work.
