My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Diamond and Ricie are Cattle Dog sisters. They were reported to GCHS as strays in the Bean Station area that had a litter of pups under a house trailer.  Upon volunteers arriving, it was determined that both sisters had had litters under the trailer within hours of each other. 19 healthy puppies approximately 48 hours old were recovered.  Jefferson City Humane Society and Blount County Humane Society assisted in fostering/rehoming moms and some of the puppies!

GCHS fostered these 5 cuties, and they are ready for adoption!  Meet Reese, Rain and their 3 brothers Roan, Riker and Ransom.  Approximate birthday 12/01/23.  Pups get along great with each other and love to run and play.  Full of energy, they are outgoing and don't shy away from people or other dogs.  Mothers were very outgoing and had a great disposition and just loved humane attention.  Puppies love it too!

Out of respect for our foster’s time and privacy we do NOT arrange meet and greets without an application on file. Therefore the first step in our adoption process is to fill out the form on our website. We have one form that is printable and one that is an on-line fillable form. Our agency is ran by volunteers. We will get back to you as quickly as we can. If you have specific questions please email us at graingerhumane@yahoo.com. We do not have a shelter location with regular hours. All of our dogs are in foster homes. All dogs are fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered before adoption. https://graingercountyhumanesociety.org/available-dogs

More about this rescue

The Grainger County Humane Society (GCHS) is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization formed in May 2001. Other than the Animal Friendly License Plate Grant, we do not receive any funds from the county, state, or federal government, or any other humane organizations such as the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). Our efforts are financed solely by non-profit and corporate grants, donations from individuals and businesses, adoption fees, and money acquired at local festivals and fundraisers. All our efforts, including animal rescue and care, are accomplished by a very small group of dedicated unpaid volunteers.
