My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mateo is a cute heeler pup that has so much to offer. He is very loving and bonds quickly to his humans. In fact, his whole face lights up with happiness when he feels safe. He is very submissive to other dogs and wants to play with them but reads the room really well. Mateo has a good bit of energy and would love a home with people who like to hike and be active. He would not do well left alone or being in a kennel during the day for hours of time. He loves to play and would benefit from another playful dog in the home. Mateo is a very smart, curious boy that’s eager to please. He is good around cats and kids(12+), too!

Mateo is in foster in Louisville, Colorado.

*We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. *

Mile High Canine Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3, Colorado non-profit organization established in 2019. We are 100% volunteer run and foster home based. MHCR aims to provide abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs a loving home to grow and learn in until a suitable forever home is found. While in foster care, our dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested/treated, microchipped, and vaccinated. We rescue dogs from Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.
