My name is Moon, and I am truly special. So special in fact, that I am going to need a special Adopter. You see, I have a few medical things going on that make me a bit more of a commitment than your average cat. I have been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and anemia and will need medication to manage both for the rest of my life. When I arrived at the SCSPCA I was very underweight but now that I am receiving treatment for my medical concerns, I am starting to put some weight on. I still have a bit of an upset tummy from time to time, so I may require a special diet, but my friends here at the shelter are working diligently with a vet to work sort out those details. I am doing well at the shelter and am feeling confident that given the proper care, I can have a good quality of life in my senior years. And thank goodness for that, because I love my human friends and would hate to miss out on my favorite thing which is crunchy kibble and meowing the song of my people! So, if you think that you have the time and financial bandwidth to set me up for success and a healthy future, please please please stop by during Browsing Hours. You can also call the shelter any time Wed-Sun from 11-5 to chat with one of my buddies in the Adoptions Department - they can give you more details about my situation including the anticipated cost of my medication in the future! I might be a little high maintenance (hey, who isn't), but I have a lot of love to give, and by the way... Have you seen my face? I'm really cute!
