My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Lola is a happy and energetic little girl who is a bit cautious when first meeting new people. She does not like to be separated from her people and is not at all a fan of crates.  She is good with the other dogs in her foster home, but lacks some personal space awareness and does not always read the cues well as to when other dogs have had enough.  She is a smart girl and will learn in time, but supervision will be needed with her and other dogs while she is learning, as she can get pretty rough when wanting to play.  She likes to chew on bones and carry things around.

She is a barker - very loud and constant - if she is separated from you or crated. She would not be appropriate for an apartment-shared wall setting.

Lola does like to cuddle or sit on your lap/next to you.     She does require a lot of activity and interaction with people and/or other dogs.   She loves being outside and bounds around the yard like a rabbit.    She likes to play with balls or bring a bone outside with her from the house.   If it is wet out, expect to clean up her paws/lower body afterwards!

She will require consistent grooming - both at the groomer and also when she comes in from outside. Her fur easily collects outdoor things such as leaves, squigglies, stickies, etc. and if they are not removed when she comes in, they can easily turn into mats.

Lola is very fast, very busy, and she has a fantastic little smile! She would be best in an energetic home with owners who are home much of the day to spend time with her and continue her socialization with other dogs.  A fenced backyard is preferred for her.

Go meet their pets

Although many of our pets are cared for at our facility in Sanford, many others are in private foster homes. To arrange a meet, it is best to first complete an online adoption application so that we can set up a meeting. You can access complete information on our pets plus the adoption application on our website, www.petrescuebyjudy.com. Meets and Adoptions are held at our Sanford Adoption Center. Please visit our facebook page, facebook.com/petrescuebyjudy for a full listing of events where PRBJ is represented.

More about this rescue

We are a private, non-profit rescue located in Sanford, Florida, dedicated to the rescue cats and dogs. Many of them come to us with medical needs. They are doctored to the best of our ability and resources.

Our most urgent goal is to rescue animals that are abandoned or in distress, update their vaccines, and find good new homes for them. But we attempt to be more proactive than that. It is our heartfelt desire to prevent any animal from the need to be "rescued." With that vision in mind, we take a three-prong approach through the education of pet owners and the general public about:
- proper care of animals, including correct diet of good quality food, fresh clean water, daily exercise, and lots of love
- spaying and neutering companion animals (dogs and cats) in order to prevent euthanasia and over-population
- low-cost spay/neuter clinics and wellness centers in their local community
