My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATED IN CAMBRIDGE, ON at PetSmart Cambridge
DOB 13 March 2022
DMH/DLH brown tabby with white
-FIV/FELUK NEGATIVE

Hey there, I'm Oscar, your potential new best bud! 🐾 I'm a handsome mix of affection and independence, ready to charm my way into your heart.

I'm a friendly guy who likes to work the room and map it out for good spots to call dibs on. You'll catch me wandering around, checking the smells and feels of things, and rubbing against your legs to share some love along the way. (A gentleman always says "Hello," right?) When I've finished exploring and surveying my kingdom, I'm content hanging out with my humans or in a comfy cat hammock or kitty condo. I like to chat too (nicely, I think). Sometimes I'm saying, "OMG, it's great to see you!" or sometimes I'm asking for something. But don't worry, I'm not an overly clingy type. I do like seeing what you're up to, or coming over to ask for petting, but I've got kitty stuff to enjoy too and am more of an independent young guy at the moment.

With my floof, a lot of people want to hug me. I do love to roll around and nudge you for some loving head scratches! The rescue humans are super nice and they pet me like that, but I have not warmed up to laps and hugging since being at the rescue. I do like to be petted though! So, I might even lay my legs across your leg on a couch... Maybe the rest will come with time? I do ask for affection, and I do show affection too, but I also try to let you know what I want and when. So, until we get to know each other more, I'd like to choose the pace and place. Hope you're ok with me figuring that out? Also, until I figure it out, I'm not sure around people who maybe aren't as in-tune with reading my kitty cues, so maybe not a comfy fit around young children. Either way, the humans think I'm quite a magical kitty to be around! No, really, they do. It's funny how humans (who have almost no fur) seem so awe-struck by kitties with lots of it.😊 It's cool though, and I'm not letting it swell my ego 😊 I'm still a curious young cat who lands on the same four paws no matter how high the pedestal is!

So, if you're searching for a companion who sometimes wants petting, sometimes wants "me time" to play, explore, think deep thoughts, or dream about cat things... a companion who also happens to turn a few aheads, then I could be your guy! 🐱

NOTE re Oscars shave:
Oscar had matted fur and some minor wounds when rescued so needed to be shaved. His fur is growing back in, and will be wonderfully soft and plush like the fur around his mane/head. Until it does, he is still stunning and he just snuggles into his blankets a bit more - it's adorable! His adopter will need to please help him maintain his coat with daily/frequent brushing etc.
