Peaches (formerly known as "Delphine"), a beautiful, quiet, and gentle 40-lb adult dog estimated to be 2.5 years old, is a rescue doggo who needs a forever home to help her forget her past and be a confident, relaxed doggo again.
Peaches was in a shelter in NM for a long time, and as such has understandably lost some faith in humanity and currently finds the world at large a little intimidating; however, in the short time she's been in foster care (she reached her current foster home in Longmont, CO, in early Feb 2024) Peaches is already making significant progress and learning to trust that human contact/interaction is okay. She loves being outside (to watch squirrels or wade in a stream, preferably) and is eager to leave the house for walkies. Peaches has had two large litters, but she is now spayed and her momma dog time is behind her... now it's her time to love life and be part of someone's loving family unit forever.
Peaches is crate trained, house trained, dog door trained, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Her foster people feel that in a few months, Peaches should have gained enough confidence in herself and her environment that she could be adopted by a family *with experience rehabilitating a dog with fear/lack of trust-based behavior issues*. Because she currently gets nervous with sudden movements, a home with young children will not be suitable for her. Note that Peaches is NOT reactive to other dogs, indoors or outside... she genuinely enjoys going for walks and getting her sniffs in! VIDEO: https://youtu.be/FBsnTpp3ryw?feature=shared
