My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bolt: The Heartwarming Tale of a Gentle Giant

In a world that speaks volumes through sounds, there's a remarkable nine-month-old Great Dane named Bolt who navigates it in silence. Bolt isn't just any puppy; he's a stunning DEAF Double Merle, adorned with a captivating hint of brindle in his lush coat, setting him apart in the most beautiful way. His journey is one of resilience, love, and the silent melodies of companionship.

Born into the majestic breed of Great Danes, known for their noble stature and gentle hearts, Bolt carried an additional unique trait - he was a Double Merle, a rarity that came with the challenge of deafness. But what Bolt lacks in hearing, he more than makes up for in heart and spirit.

Bolt is the epitome of the phrase "gentle giant." With a demeanor as serene as a still lake, he approaches life with a laid-back attitude that endears him to all. His handsome features are matched by a personality that radiates warmth, making him a favorite among both the canine and human kind. Bolt doesn't just get along with other dogs; he thrives in their company, embodying the essence of friendship and acceptance.

Despite his deafness, Bolt's capacity to learn and adapt shines brightly. He's not only house trained and crate trained, proving his intelligence and eagerness to please, but he's also mastered touch commands for "sit" and "come." These accomplishments are a testament to Bolt's sharp mind and the bond he shares with those who have guided him with patience and love.

Above all, Bolt is a companion at heart. His favorite place in the world is by the side of his people, offering silent company that speaks louder than words. Bolt loves unconditionally and seeks a forever home where love is a language spoken fluently, where he can be part of a family that cherishes his presence and embraces his uniqueness.

Bolt's journey is an inspiring tale of overcoming the odds with grace. As he looks for his forever home, he carries with him the hope of finding a family that sees beyond his deafness to the incredible soul beneath. Bolt isn't just looking for a place to live; he's searching for a place to belong, to grow, and to love.

Bolt's ideal home is one filled with patience, understanding, and a readiness to continue his training. He dreams of a family that will explore the world with him in ways that transcend sound, creating a bond built on mutual respect, love, and the countless joys of life's simple pleasures.

Bolt's story is one that is still being written, and it could include you. If you're looking for a loyal friend, a gentle giant with a heart as big as his stature, Bolt may just be the companion you've been dreaming of. In Bolt, you'll find not just a pet, but a family member who'll add warmth, love, and a touch of the extraordinary to your life.

Bolt is ready to start his next chapter. Could it be with you?

White Kisses requires all dogs to be in training within thirty days of adoption. Training is crucial for Danes to learn lifelong skills and to understand their place in the family pack. It is also an essential part of getting to know each other and helping your pup become a well-mannered GREAT Dane!

Additional adoption info

Before adopting a dog, please remember that this is a life-time commitment.

Ask yourself, do you have the financial means to provide the essential care?

If you rent, you must have landlord's consent.

Are all the animals in your home spayed/neutered? We are pro-spay/neuter and can't adopt or allow you to foster if you have unfixed animals in your home. Your pets must also be current on vaccinations, heart-worm prevention and vet care.

All available dogs are fixed, regardless of age, before they leave our care. We do NOT and will NOT offer spay/neuter contacts.

Please return our phone calls; if you don't, we won't finish processing your application.

White Kisses Great Dane Rescue does evaluate temperament as well as health assessments, but we can make no guarantee's on a dog's health and needs later in life.

Note: Fosters go through an application & home check process as well.

To assist White Kisses GDR in continuing rescue work, Adopter's make a non-refundable donation. This donation is immediately used to pay ongoing costs of rescuing more great danes, including food, veterinary care, kennels, behavior training, etc.

More about this rescue

White Kisses Great Dane Rescue is committed to the rescue, rehab and rehoming of Great Danes in Texas and surrounding states. While we do rescue all types of full-blooded Great Danes as well as some Mastiffs and Dane/Mastiff mixes, our passion and #1 priority are the deaf, blind and special needs Great Danes.

We are a non-profit 501(c)3 Great Dane rescue operating solely on donations and the work of volunteers. Every donation helps us provide medical attention, housing, food and all other needs of the Great Danes in our care.

We primarily serve Texas and the surrounding states, with adoptions throughout the U.S. and Canada. Our goal is to not only save these magnificent gentle giants from living poorly cared for lives, but also educating the public regarding Double Merles and the care of these special needs Great Danes. We strive to place each Great Dane in the home that best fits the Dane.

Saving our gentle giants, one kiss at a time.
