Stanley came to us from the Modesto area, after living as a stray for some time. The # comment his foster mom gets when they’re out in the world is “what a cool looking dog!” That he is for certain, but he is also one of the sweetest guys you could ever meet.
Sometimes we find it hard to believe that he was ever on the streets, given how quickly he made himself at home with his foster family. His first night there, he fell asleep with his big old head in his foster mom’s lap. Stanley loves all things soft and cozy, and will happily spend the afternoon dozing the sun. He acclimated well to a chaotic household, not even budging when his 17 month old human foster sister insisted on draping his neck with costume jewelry.
He definitely has an energetic and playful side: he loves a good zoomie race or wrestling match with his foster sisters. He is mellow and mild-mannered around town, though, whether it’s running errands or fancy dinner on a restaurant patio. He just wants to be included on your adventures!
He and his two canine foster sisters have been doing training sessions and (much to his foster mom’s chagrin) Stanley took to it pretty immediately (being super food motivated didn’t hurt!) though he is still working on his leash training and being comfortable in his crate, as he has shown signs of separation anxiety when his foster parents need to leave the house without him.
Stanley is a total cuddlebug and wants all the love he can possibly get.
He has thus far been good with other dogs. Good with kids, (even the loudest stompiest toddler). He has not been cat tested yet. He is crate trained and house trained and has had some formal dog training.
