My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This handsome fella will waltz his way right into your heart! Dancer is a happy-go-lucky pup who is looking for the paw-fect dance partner and cuddle buddy.

Dancer loves every human he meets and is always happy to get some good pets! When playtime is over, he gets serious about his naps. Being this much fun is tiring work! Like every good performer, he learns quickly and is always eager to please. Dancer may move to his own rhythm, but he’s a great listener who follows commands well. His friendly, laidback demeanor has made him a staff favorite. He wants nothing more than to make his humans happy!

Dancer is looking for a home in a quiet area where he can fully come out of his shell. Life outside of the city is the ideal fit for this suburban boy. He’ll charm the neighbors with his moves in no time!

Dancer has been diagnosed with a condition called brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS). This prevents him from being able to dissipate heat and breathe normally, and he is at high risk for respiratory difficulties and heat stroke. Nonetheless, Dancer is always a cheerful guy! Our medical team would love to go over his needs with you.

  • Dancer would be a good fit for most families!
  • Dancer needs to meet other dogs one-on-one first. Our staff would love to help make introductions.
  • Dancer is reported to be housetrained. An Admissions and Placement Specialist can give you tips to help set him up for success in your home!

**The ASPCA is committed to prioritizing the health and safety of the community, the animals in our care and our staff, and we are keeping a close eye on developments related to the COVID-19 crisis as they evolve. As such, the ASPCA Adoption Center in New York City is currently closed for in-person visitors. However, we are excited to offer remote adoptions using video conferencing! In-person meet-and-greets are also sometimes available or required for specific animals. More about this shelter

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. Our organization was founded by Henry Bergh in 1866 on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans, and must be protected under the law. Headquartered in New York City, the ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend our anti-cruelty mission across the country, we are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. We are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and proud to boast more than 1 million supporters across the country.
