My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ricky is a sweet, loving Shepherd X teenager who is about 7 months old and mostly grown at 41#. Ricky couldn’t be nicer. He loves to cuddle and be petted. He is house broken and is loving living with the other puppies and dogs in his foster home. He is amazing in that he had a bit of a rough start. He and his much larger brother were rescued by a Good Samaritan. Ricky’s brother was more than a bit bossy and he started keeping Ricky away from his food and generally was a bit of a mean big brother. Ricky kind of shutdown just to avoid trouble. The Good Samaritan knew he had to make things a lot better for Ricky so he asked PUP if we would take him. It was like being reborn when he arrived at his pup foster home. He no longer had to compete for food and, even better, all of the puppies and dogs were nice to him and even wanted to play with him. (Remind you a bit of Rudolph?)

Ricky emerged from his shell and every day shows just what a wonderful dog he is. He is not comfortable around large dogs so it would be best if he went to a home where any other dogs in the home were smaller than him. He is a wonderful playmate with the grumpy senior citizen dog and the other puppies in the foster home.

Ricky’s former foster family lived in an extremely remote area so city life is all new and he has a lot to learn yet. His adopter will need to be patient while introducing him to everything from skate boards to garbage trucks. His best family would probably be a home with adults or older children.

Ricky is easy to be around, non-demanding and has a moderate energy level.

Ricky has been neutered, vaccinated and wormed. His adoption fee is $375 adoption fee (check or cash).
