Ricky is ready for adoption!!! This little boy is almost 7 months old and just finished recovering from his neuter so he is ready for his forever home!
Ricky is quite the little character. He is full of energy and affection and wants nothing more than to play and cuddle. He is great with other dogs. Amazing in fact, and will not be aggressive no matter the circumstances.
Ricky has regressed a little since his neuter and needs to be taken out frequently to avoid accidents, but he is capable of telling you he needs to go out if you pay attention. This is common right after a neuter since the testosterone levels drop so quickly.
He hasn't been fully cat tested. He has been around them and hasn't tried to attack, but hasn't had much opportunity. Most likely he is scared of cats. Poor kid has some major separation anxiety. Ricky needs a home where someone is home all the time and can work with Ricky on this issue, which with the right effort and attention he should outgrow.
NOT A GOOD FIT FOR APARTMENT OR CONDO
Ricky will cry, bark, and nervous poop if he is left alone. He does not do well in a kennel when left alone and will scrape his nose on the metal.
He will do best in a home with other dogs that want to play with him. Ricky is up to date on shots, microchipped, neutered, and has had a recent nail trim, anal gland expression and ear cleaning.
Again, it is crucial that Ricky go to a patient home that will work with him on his anxiety. He is also a very long dog and will need a home with someone savvy to avoiding back injuries (IVDD). Ricky is probably 11lbs now, but may likely be a tweenie when full grown, so potentially 15-18lbs. It is really hard to say, but an adopter would need to be prepared for that possibility.
Apply today if you are interested in little Ricky. He is being fostered in Utah, and if approved, you would have to travel to Utah to pick him up.
