Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We`ve named her Sabrina and she arrived with a larger group of small and large dogs. Sabrina`s has a best friend Patty Cake A900864 and we would like for them to leave together. They have been missing some lovin` from humans for a longtime as they`ve endured some sad people losses in their lives. Extra patience will be needed to help overcome their fears and to remind them of their indoor manners. If you are compassionate, patient and willing to allow these girls to be girls, while building new human bridges for them, you`re exactly who they need. Please expect to send extra time getting to know them, they are lovely and warm up pretty quickly.

They are advocated for by all their shelter family including ClassicCaninesATX who are helping to make bridges out of the shelter for displaced older dogs that took a fork in the road of life due to hardship.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day!
For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites.
For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older

Go meet their pets

The Austin Animal Center is open for adoptions every day from 11:00am to 7:00pm. We're closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Thanksgiving Day to give our staff some time with family.
Interested adopters should come to the shelter during business hours to meet with a counselor start looking for a pet who'll be a good fit. Our counselors and volunteers are happy to help with that process.
