My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, my name is Grimm. I am a approximate 4-year-old Lab mix who weighs about 70 pounds. I was a stray in a crowded shelter in southern Ohio that needed to make space for new dogs coming in, one way or the other. The one way...well, it wasn't going to be a pleasant ending for me. It would have been a very FINAL ending for me. The other way was that I jumped on a rescue transport and made it to northern Ohio and the nice people at Multiple Breed Rescue.
I'm in a foster home now, and really love it here. I spend most of the day napping in various places in the home, kind of as a quality assurance snoozle spot tester. I don't need to be crated, but also don't mind my crate. I'm friendly with other dogs, and with all the humans. For the most part, when I'm outside in the fenced yard, I can be found lying in a sun spot, sniffing the air for all the good smells. I know sit and I walk great on a leash. I know you're thinking I sound perfect, right? There isn't anything grim about this Grimm. I do have one bad habit though. When I was running as a stray, I found out how much I liked having the wind in my face and my past behind me, so I may take an occasional opportunity to head back off on my own, by darting out a door or digging under a fence. Just a bit of supervision on your part, especially initially when I come home with you, will help curb that habit. And, once I know we are a forever family, it will probably convince me to tame my roaming ways and teach me that at 4 years old I should start thinking of settling down with a family, growing some roots and making things permanent. If you have a wandering soul and a thing for handsome red heads, I'm probably your perfect match.
All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters.

Additional adoption info

Due to recent events, we use discretion when adopting to a home with children under the age of 5 and to an adult under 23. This does not mean you are automatically disqualified, but we may require additional information.

The adoption fee for all animals listed depends on the breed/species, age, vet care, cost to pull from the kill shelter, worming medicine, flea medicine, vaccinations, micro chip, etc. The adoption fee BARELY covers all of the previous mentioned expenses. Please do not ask for us to lower the fee.

All adopters must fill out an application. Please note: Once you submit an adoption application, it could possibly take up to 10 days to process. Thank you for your patience. Please email us for an adoption application at rescue@mbrohio.com or submit on our website http://www.mbrohio.com/adoption-application/

Go meet their pets

The dogs listed on this site are located at various foster homes throughout Ohio & some are located at a private boarding facility. Anyone wishing to visit one of our dogs or other animals must first complete an application and be an approved adopter before scheduling an appointment. Majority of scheduled appointments take place at a boarding facility in Grafton, Ohio

Please make a note that we do not transport our animals to you; you would need to come to Grafton Ohio to meet and possibly adopt.

More about this rescue

This site supports a small group of people who try to help as many animals that we can that have been displaced. All of the animals are checked by a vet, altered and updated on all vaccinations prior to going to a home.

We are all volunteers who do the best that we can with the limited funds and resources available to us. We give the potential adopter as much information as we can, including copies of all vet records but we normally do not know the history of the animals, as they are strays at the pound or taken by a humane officer from poor living conditions. Very rarely do we have owner releases. Most dogs in our program were minutes away from being put to sleep so the pound could make space for more strays.
