My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Megaphone recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what her DDO buddy had to say!

"Meet Megaphone!! This sweet, loving girl is a 1 year old, 38LB mixed breed.
She is super smart and treat motivated - she already knows sit, lay down, and paw/shake!

Today we went on a 4 mile hike so she could burn up all of her energy - she'd do great in a home with an active family! She hiked up and down the trails and splashed around in any water fall/stream we passed. We met people and other puppers on our adventure. Coming across pups seems to be frustrating for her because she can't say hi or play with them and the leash is holding her back so she lets out some big barks! That's really the only time she made a peep.

She walks well on a leash. She MUST be leading the way, if she's not she will pull herself and walker to the front of everyone - don't worry she stops to look and make sure everyone is still behind her every 45 seconds. For the most part we walked with a fairly relaxed leash!

We took a few to relax at the house after our hike and attempted to play but she had no idea what to do with a ball or toy.

She did not mind the car - she stood up and down on our ride to the hike but on the way back she was knocked out, so she knows how to get comfy in the car.

This spunky, energetic pup is patiently waiting for her forever home and companion at Guilford County Animal Services."

2nd DDO:
"Meet Megaphone

I had a fun Dog Day Out with this sweet girl, affectionately named for her friendly greetings she likes to share with other dogs (although she was quiet as a mouse with me all morning!). She's a one year old mixed breed, around 38 lbs.

-GREAT in the car!
-Super smart! Knows sit, and is very treat motivated!
-Good leash walker. She does initially pull, but is easily directed and listens so well.
-Sweet as can be!! Loved to give kisses
-Let me give her a bath, even though it wasn't her favorite.
-Her kennel at the shelter says "Fun Girl Energy and this is very accurate! She's a fun dog that would love a yard to run in!"

3rd DDO:
"I had the pleasure of spending the day with the sweetest girl, megaphone. She is a one year old mixed breed who is affectionately named after the sweet noises she loves to make. Today, we went on a long walk, grabbed a pup cup from Awoo Coffee Shop, and napped at my apartment!! She is a great walker, a friend to all she comes in contact with, lover of butt scratches and pup cups, and enjoys giving LOTS of kisses. She is such a loving, affectionate dog who would do great with an active family. This girl is the sweetest and truly deserves a great and loving home that will love her as much as she loves you!!"

As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines.

To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
