My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Through no fault of her own, after just under two weeks in her new home, Murphy is coming back due to some unexpected life changes in the family. This pretty blue merle is eight years old, a working bred female that lost her original home after her owner passed away unexpectedly. She is located in southeast PA. About 40 pounds, Murphy is spayed, UTD on vaccinations and preventatives, housetrained, crate trained, rides great in the car, and has no idea she's mature! She acts like a much younger dog. Like any Aussie, Murphy needs exercise but does have an off switch and can curl up next to you on the couch and chill. She hears every little noise and has to know what’s going on. No cats for this girl, and no small children as she's never been around them. Murphy is exuberant with her friends and fine with strangers, just indifferent until she gets to know them. She would be a good chore dog but doesn’t need stock. She does need someone who is experienced with the breed and understands the unique needs of a working dog mentality. Murphy would be best with someone who wouldn't leave her alone for long periods or confined in a small area. She has coexisting with four Belgian Tervurens and a Corgi and did fine, although she can be a bit pushy. She can run with any of them and doesn’t seem to have any issue with the other two bitches. She has several advanced herding titles on stock and also has a tracking title.
Murphy is not in the ARPH program, but we are screening applications for her. Murphy has the potential to do whatever you want to do! She would be a wonderful, devoted companion for the right person, someone committed to regular, consistent exercise and stimulation for her. Could you be that person? If you think you might be, please submit an application for adoption at www.aussierescue.com
