My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Enzo. I am a white German Shepherd mix, 5 years old, 82 lbs, and late last year my owner passed away. With nowhere else to go, I was left alone in the house and a neighbor would come daily to feed me and take me for a walk, but I was lonely. I would cry at the door each time our visit was over so my story was posted on Facebook and 4 Little Paws Rescue took me in. I am now living in a foster home in San Antonio Texas and living a much better life, but there is only one perfect ending I am dreaming of… finding a forever home.

I am a wonderful boy and my foster mom fell in love with me immediately and calls me a gentle giant. I guess 82 lbs in one handsome package can intimidate some people. I have a very sweet personality and when we go for daily walks (I’m leash-trained), I allow people to pet me and offer me treats. I adore people and make friends easily. I like kitty cats and lived with 3 in my owner's home and 3 in my foster home, and although I don't seem to be interested in playing with other dogs, I co-exist without any problems. I’m more of a people dog and I am a sucker for dog toys and will carry them with me everywhere. I have a box full and they seem to be my coping mechanism for many lonely days and feelings of abandonment. I am looking for love and attention, and humans to spend time with. I’ll come to you and ask for pets and I love tummy rubs and sharing kisses. I have an average amount of energy for a dog, nothing wild and crazy and not boring either. I am already housebroken, and I don't jump fences or dig in the yard. I’ve never been kept in a crate and I don't need to be. I have 2 dog beds, one in the bedroom and one in the living room and I am doing great. I love going for walks and taking rides in the car which will work out great when I travel by transport van to Connecticut to find a forever family. It can be stressful and scary, surrounded by strangers, and meeting new people, but gentle voices with words of kindness are very reassuring to me, and a bit of patience as I settle into a new life would be very helpful for a sweet boy like me.

* We encourage you to email us your #1, #2, and #3 choices, and we will be happy to help you find a pup to complete your family! There is no need to fill out another application, just let us know what other dogs you are interested in as they come up.
