My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Penny is a 3 years-old pitbull mix who ended up at an overcrowded shelter in Prince George's County, an overcrowded shelter with an existing outdated breed specific legislation against pitbulls. Penny was trembling, terrified, and confused. Volunteers spent lots of time with Penny and eventually she started to warm up and show off her wiggly butt. Just as soon as Penny was started to see the light and show her amazing personality, she was placed to be euthanized any day simply due to to her breed and length of stay in the shelter. We sent a plea out for her, a foster step up for her, and she is now safe.

Update: Pretty Penny is still in search of her forever home.  Penny has been doing so good.  Penny is completely house broken but loves her crate and does really well in it. She sleeps through the night in the crate and goes in on command.  When left out of the crate she does not attempt to go for shoes or remotes or anything she shouldn't be chewing or eating.  Penny has been great with all dogs she has met.  She is currently sharing space with a Bernadoodle. Penny is very excitable and has been really improving on listening to other dogs commands when they don't want to play.  Penny is a humans dog though. She loves her humans more than anything and she wants to make them happy. She loves butt scratches, belly rubs, being told she is a good girl, treats, walks, and cuddling. Total love bug. And again. She really wants to make her humans proud of her.  She doesn't need much, just some loving humans, some treats, some food, and a place to snuggle with her people.
