There is nothing better than the help of a stress-free and loving home for pets who are healing from illness or injury. That’s why we created Help Me Heal, a foster-to-adopt program for pets like Daisy. Daisy is currently awaiting a dental procedure. But Daisy doesn't have to wait in the shelter while she is healing - she can go to her future adopter's home through our Help Me Heal foster-to-adopt program.

By choosing to foster and then adopt you’re helping Daisy transition into a forever family more quickly and with less anxiety. During the Help Me Heal foster period, PAWS even covers all medical care and medicine until your pet is medically cleared for adoption.

Additional adoption info

To adopt a cat or dog from PAWS Chicago:

- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have a form of identification (license or state ID)
- Verify that you are allowed to have a cat/dog where you currently live.
- Be able to spend the time and resources necessary to provide the training, medical treatment and proper care for your cat.
- Bring along all family members (including children) to meet the cat/dog(s).
- Be able to take the cat/dog home on the day of adoption.
- Have the time to spend up to an hour with an adoption counselor to discuss the responsibility of owning a cat/dog and making it a lifetime commitment.

Adoption Fee:

- $150.00 for kittens
- $100.00 for cats 1-5 years of age
- $75.00 for cats 6-9 years of age
- $50.00 for cats 10 years and older
- $450.00* for puppies
- $350.00* for dogs 1-7 years of age
- $200.00 for dogs 8 years and older

*A $100.00 refundable training deposit is also required for each dog/puppy. This deposit is refundable upon completion of obedience training. You will have four months from the date of the adoption to complete a basic obedience class with your new puppy/dog. When you provide proof that your PAWS dog has completed a course, we will reimburse you the $100.00 deposit you submitted at the time of adoption.

Adoption Fee Includes:

- Spay/neuter surgery
- All age-appropriate vaccinations
- Microchip
- Lifetime guarantee if something happens to you or you can no longer care for your pet
- Support throughout the pets lifetime
