My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hunter! It's not every day you find a baby Malinois (mix?) wandering the streets of NYC, but that's exactly what happened with this special boy! When his finder couldn't keep him, he joined our foster program where he's been living with a professional dog trainer and showing off all his bold, brave, curious smarts and athleticism while mastering his basic skills and obedience. If you're an experienced owner who lives in a non-urban setting and you consider yourself a dog sports enthusiast, keep reading!

Hunter is just 4-5 months old, 35 lbs and growing fast! He's living with 2 other adult dogs and one thinks he's pretty annoying, but the other loves to play and snuggle and enjoys his bitey puppy ways. When meeting new dog friends at home, Hunter comes on strong and can be extra mouthy/grabby, so he does best when introduced in a neutral environment.

True to his breed, Hunter is looking for a life filled with adventure and stimulation. A perfect day includes playing with the flirt pole, practicing his skateboarding skills, and trying dock diving, scent work, or search & rescue work on for size. He's looking for love outside of NYC (where there are less things to scream feelings at) and when he's not practicing his high jump skills on the dining table, this baby gentleman is smart as a whip!

Hunter has received all his age-appropriate vaccines and preventatives. He is not yet neutered and we are open to discussing delayed neuter options to ensure his healthy development.

To meet Hunter, complete our brief questionnaire at thegldr.org.
