LADY LOLA is a one year old female lab mix that weighs 38 lbs. She one of a large group of dogs the rescue is helping an overwhelmed owner with. Lola came to us last fall when a couple of the dogs became ill. It turns out they had contracted distemper from an infected raccoon. We were able to get Lola out and return her to health, none the worse for wear.
Lola and her extended family of canine relatives were all kept as outside dogs. Miraculously, they are very eager for human attention. The volunteers have been working with Lola for months to help her socialization skills. We're happy to report she is now crate and house trained. A bonus? She walks nicely on a leash.
Lola will need a quiet yet supportive home to continue with her progress. We are not recommending children as she's better suited to an adult home. She is fine around other dogs although her pack upbringing can spark confrontation quickly with the wrong dog. Her health is excellent and once she gets to know you, she is quite affectionate. She's a great couch buddy.
If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Lola's picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Additional adoption FAQ's can be found here also. Meets will be set with approved applicants based on our "best family fit" approach. Thank you!
