Meet Miss Popularity--Venus who is just one of the sweet kittens we have available for adoption at PetSmart. She's a 7-month-old grey and white short-haired tuxedo with an adorable and quirky personality and precious pink nose. She gets along fabulously with the other cats in her foster home. Venus is always on the go and loves to play with toys. She will make you laugh while she wears herself out chasing the ball 🧶 tower.
Venus was born with quite unique paws. She's not a polydactyl but has an extra row of claws on each paw. The claws are soft and pliable and not sharp like normal cat claws. Scratching and climbing aren't part of her physical prowess as her feet are more like those of a declawed cat. We affectionately refer to her as Funky 🐾 Claws or 20 Toes. She can run, jump, and play the same as any other cat. Venus' personality outshines any abnormalities she has with her feet.
This energetic bundle of fur would be a great addition to a family that can give her all the love she deserves. Come meet Venus and let her steal your heart. 💗

Their adoption process

Meet the Pet

Once the potential adopter has found a pet they are interested in, they can visit the rescue in person and meet the cat or dog.

2.
Submit Application

Please note: Applicants should be age 21 or older. Fill out adoption application and submit for consideration.

3.
Approve Application

The application is then approved or rejected by the administration of our rescue.

4.
Pay Fee

At this point, the adopter pays the adoption fee for the cat or dog.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We approve or deny adoptions based on various factors, such as the yard being fenced in, or how many kids or large dogs they have. We also prefer adopting to applicants aged 21 or older.

We are located in Lakeland, Florida, on Moore Road, off of Old Polk City Road. Our animals are available to be viewed by appointment. We also have done various adoption events at the Lakeland Petsmart, as well as other events around Polk County.

We are Saving Paws Rescue of Florida, Inc is a 501(c)3 non-profit dog and cat rescue. Formerly Forgotten Tails Rescue. Our Lakeland location has split from the Spring Hill group to provide our geographical area with better service.
Our mission remains the same...to rescue cats and dogs who need our help medically and to find them permanent homes.
