My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Dory is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**

Age: 10 months
Weight: 18 kg

A bit about me:
- unknown history with children; supervised interactions recommended
- unknown history with cats; slow, supervised introductions recommended
- dogs okay pending successful introduction

Dory is a sweet, happy girl found wandering as a stray. We don't know her history, but in shelter, she has shown lots of friendly interest in other dogs! Dory loves to make new friends, although she can be a bit nervous at first. Once you are buddies, she'll be so excited to see you again her greeting can be a bit too exuberant. Dory is working hard to practice appropriate ways to ask for attention, and she she'll need her new family to help her keep practicing this. With some love, treats and routine, Dory will soon be your friend - a best buddy you can rely on to "just keep swimming" with you for many years to come.

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
