My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please check here for updated adoption hours.

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.

I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.

I would do best in a home with only adult humans.

What my friends at ACC say about me:

Jazz tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.

A volunteer writes: Jazz was found in a carrier at a subway station. A good Samaritan brought him to us for some help because, though he's smart and curious, he's not really looking for that type of adventure. Now that I think of it though, the shelter isn't really his style either. Jazz is trying to make the most of things, but he's not always quite sure about what's expected. He'll call out hellos and what about me's when he sees his neighbors getting some attention, but will usually scurry back to his cubby when his door is open. And while he hasn't really been one for pets and cuddles, he loves to play. Playing with Jazz is super fun because he really puts his heart into it! Leaping after his pipe cleaner feather with a joyful purpose, Jazz thankfully isn't so set on accuracy because he'll sometimes grab his blanket or a different toy instead. And oftentimes, he'll return to his cubby when things get a bit much (or to revise his playtime strategy). Jazz is looking for someone who will be patient as he learns and grows because one adventure he's more than ready for is finding his forever family.
