My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Currant!

Currant is an 11-month-old 35 lb. Stunning Terrier Mix who loves kisses and cuddles and being close to his people.

His superpowers include being a fast learner, listening very well, super great on the leash and will keep up with any pace. He likes jogging and loves walks long and short. .he just loves being outside!

In terms of house training, Currant has mastered it! He gets super excited when you pull out his leash because he knows it's potty time, and if you need a reminder he will let you know by going to the door and waiting.

He loves to please and loves to be rewarded for a good job! Currant isn't super food motivated but he LOVES being praised and gets super happy & excited when he's told "Yayyyyy Currant" and that he's a good boy.
He loves his little stuffed animal toys and sleeps with them. Cutest thing ever!

Some of his favorite things are his plush teddy bears, pig ears, and being brushed. He loves to give hugs and will always remind you with a kiss before bedtime.

Currant is a well mannered, chill, kid and dogs friendly! He loves being around people and getting all the pets so if you're looking for an adventure buddy who will greet you with a big smile & kisses, loves dog friendly establishments and is a snuggle bug Currant might be your perfect match!

Currant is currently being fostered in River Edge, New Jersey. His adoption fee is $500.

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
