My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Penny is a wonderful, smart and playful border collie mix, about 4-5 years old. We adopted her from a rescue in Houston in 2019. During the pandemic, she began exhibiting some defensive behaviors (possessive of objects, not friendly to strangers at the home). We have done extensive training with her over the years and she is super smart and responsive to training. She loves mental stimulation.

Penny is still not comfortable with strangers (non-family members) at our house and we are making the painful decision to rehome her because we now have two young kids and desperately need childcare assistance. However, Penny can be very friendly outside of our house (especially when we are not present). For example, she does daycare and boarding and loves playing with other dogs and staff members. We believe she would do best in a home that can help her learn to interact with strangers at home, can teach her crate training, or otherwise has space for her to relax separately away from guests.
