My name is Abby and yep I'm an amazingly beautiful bright lil gal that is still young...young at heart. My name means 'Giving Joy' and I do my best to bring joy and happiness to everyone.
I had a beautiful life with my owner until she had to go into hospice. Her family didn't want to be bothered by me so they took me to the local shelter. This wonderful rescue took me in so that I wouldn't have to sit in a loud cold kennel and they put me in a loving foster home. I might not have my beloved home any longer but I do have lots of love going around and lots of playmate 'siblings' too! It is unsure if I've been around any small kiddos but I should do fine with the older ones that know to give me my space if I should need it but it would probably be best if I had a cat free home.
Even with my situation, I'm still a happy happy girl. I'm around 9 years young and I do mean young. I'm still quite active and love taking strolls around the neighborhood. I would make a great family addition as a companion dog to an active retired person(s) or someone that works from home. I'm already house trained so I could even be a fabulous choice for a first time pet parent.
I'm only around 15lbs so I'm a pawsome size for those strolls, car rides or mozing around the garden. And I also don't take up much room on the couch or bed! ;)
My longer coat will need some regular grooming to keep me looking my stunning self. It seems I may have been used to going for a spa day and seem to be quite well mannered for them.
I've had a home for my spring and summer years but now am looking for a home for my fall and winter years. If you would like a BFF to share in your daily going on's, a great listener and a fabulous secret keeper we could be a perfect match.
