Meet Scruffy, the ultimate companion cat with a heart as big as his meow! From the moment you step through the door, Scruffy's welcoming purrs and affectionate head-butts make it clear that he's thrilled to have you home. This handsome boy wastes no time in claiming his favorite spot by your side, whether it's perched on your lap or nestled snugly beside you on the couch.
Scruffy is a connoisseur of affection, reveling in head scratches, chin scritches, and full-body pets, and unlike some cats, he is okay being picked up! Furthermore, he is a fan of chin scratches. For many years he was loved by a family, but after an accident resulted in a tail injury his family could no longer care for him. Despite having a partial tail amputation, Scruffy's spirit remains unbroken, and he approaches life with a zest for love and companionship. His playful side emerges whenever a toy mouse or wand is involved and his food-driven nature makes him a prime candidate for clicker training.
With a voice as loud as his heart is big, Scruffy isn't shy about vocalizing his excitement for mealtime or simply expressing his joy at your presence. As he continues to settle into his surroundings, Scruffy's cuddle sessions become more frequent, and he'll follow you around, looking for attention and companionship.
If you're seeking a laid-back, mellow companion who values friendship, loyalty, and the occasional scritch behind the ears, look no further than Scruffy!
Note: Scruffy's tail amputation may have caused nerve damage that is managed with a small dose of gabapentin in his food twice a day.
Prior to adoption, all cats are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped.
This cat is in a foster home To meet the cat, please fill out an adoption application so that we'll have your contact information, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Our adoption application is on our website here: www.thedancingcat.org/adopt
