Penny was found as a stray--or rather she found herself, sticking close to her Good Samaritan's home until we were able to take her in.
When she came in, she was terrified of leash pressure, and it still makes her nervous but as long as the line is not taut, she will no longer panic. Penny is an exceptionally adorable wiggler with deep, emotional brown eyes and the cutest wrinkly face you'll ever find. When she's happy to see you (which is always), she wriggles with joy from her head to tippytappy feet. She is a low energy lady, spending her hours as office dog in deep sleep only interspersed by a few minutes of chewing a pro-offered bully stick or leaning into some good scritches.
We recently moved Penny from her intake kennel down to the adopt hall which is bigger, louder, and busier. She is having a difficult time with the change and is withdrawing into herself when she was just starting to peek out of her shell! We are all very fond of this large and gentle sweetheart. Even at her most frightened, she never gets mean. From the way her ears sit to her deep awwoooo-wooo-woooo, she is enchanting. Low energy doesn't mean boring, especially when you're as pretty and full of personality as Penny is.
