My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! You are looking at one happy "mama! I was rescued by some of the good folks at a fire department! When they found me it had been pouring rain for several days and me and my babies were soaked through and through. When we arrived at the shelter my babies had very low body temperature and had to be warmed up over night. It was touch and go for several hours. The next morning all had survived the night and we went into the "Friendly Foster program. Everyone gained weight and thrived in that loving environment. Now here is the best news of all........All of my babies have been adopted!! NOW it's my turn to find my forever home!! I am a three-year-old terrier mix. I have all of my vaccinations, I have a microchip, and I have been spayed. One problem did show up on my health check up. I am heartworm positive, but I already have my first appointment for treatment set up!! Why don't you foster me through treatment and then make me a member of your family? Do you think this sweet "Mama dog could have a home with you?

Additional adoption info

The placement of our adoptable animals into loving, caring homes and thereby enhancing the bond between animals and people is the primary goal of the Montgomery Humane Society Adoption Program. We focus on education so that every pet owner benefits from their contact with the shelter, whether or not they adopt an animal from us. Matching the needs of the animal and the potential owner, as well as educating potential owners about responsible pet ownership, helps to ensure successful pet placements of shelter animals.
