My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Filbert
Introducing Filbert!

Filbert is a handsome English Bulldog who is approximately 2-1/2 to 3 years old and currently weighs 45 pounds. This guy was owner surrendered, through no fault of his own to the Weslaco shelter in south Texas near the border of Mexico. The reason his previous owners surrendered him was something that was completely in their control…he had fleas. Well, the fleas are gone and all of that is behind him now. We love this little choker and can’t wait to help him find a loving forever home.

Filbert is a happy, social dog! He loves everyone he meets and is very vocal when he wants to tell you what’s going on. He is treat-motivated and is having fun playing with his toys. He is doing well with the other dogs in his playgroup and enjoys meeting canine friends.

Filbert will need a home with an adopter who is experienced with the English Bulldog breed and what he will need to be happy and healthy. Veterinary references are also required. He will need an active home, without small children, where he can get regular walks and exercise to avoid weight gain. He is just a fun-loving guy and will be a loyal and loving companion!

Filbert is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to Columbus, Ohio on April 13th, 2024.. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $400. The fee includes the transport cost.
