Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Meatball, the seasoned sweetheart ready to add some love to your life! This pup, affectionately dubbed the "nanny" by his previous family, is seeking a cozy home to call his own. With a knack for charming kids and a flawless record in manners, Meatball is the epitome of a perfect gentleman - plus, he's both potty and crate trained! While he would prefer a home as the only pet, he would love to soak up all of the attention from his people. He may not be as spry as he used to be, but that makes his a perfect gentle walking companion and occasional fetch enthusiast. His intuitive nature and affectionate disposition make him the ultimate cuddle buddy. If you're ready to welcome Meatball into your life, get ready for unconditional love and companionship! More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
