My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Alert! Introducing Prospero and Verona!

This brother and sister duo are looking for a forever home. They are nine weeks old! Although we'd like to adopt them together they can be adopted separately with other cats in the home.

Prospero: Playing is life for Prospero. He can't resist a good play sesh - balls, strings, tubes, or even better, another cat. Prospero would chase and wrestle another kitty who needs a buddy. If Prospero was a human, he'd be that kid that plays every sport and just wants to hang out with his friends. He's super curious and once he gets his eye on the prize there is no stopping him. Prospero would rather hang out with a cat friend than his human buddies, so highly suggest he go to a home with at least one other cat so he won't be lonely and will have a playmate for life.

Verona: She's just a baby, but she's brave and fearless. She loves a good play sesh, but is down to cuddle whenever. If you get her at the right time she'll even request a belly rub. Purring is the only language she knows. Verona should go to a home where she will have some type of companionship and constant attention from her human, but she also loves cuddling up with her brother for naps so a friend who wouldn't mind sharing a bed will also work for her.

Both: Any one looking to adopt two kittens, especially a brother/sister from the same litter, Prospero and Verona are perfect. Between the two you get friendly, playful, cuddly, affectionate, curious, and brave. These two curl up together all day for naps, but love to tumble around, chase each other, and play. The cutest thing ever is when Verona goes off to cuddle with the humans, Prospero will come check on her to make sure she's OK before finding his own spot in the room to wind down.

These two are vaccinated, FeLV/FIV negative, parasite free and in excellent health.

More about this rescue

Little Wanderers NYC is a grassroots 501c3 non-profit organization rescuing sick and injured cats from the five New York City boroughs.

Little Wanderers NYC runs solely with the help of volunteers. Our core volunteers help to maintain daily tasks and rescue needy cats off of the tough NYC streets. We focus on rescuing street cats with the help of our rescue team and placing them in foster homes until they find their FURever families.

Our mission is to rescue and TNR as many street cats in NYC as possible. We strive to never give up on a cat, regardless of their illnesses or their challenges. We believe that all cats deserve a place to call home and a family who will love them. LWNYC hopes to give this to all cats who come into our care in the most timely manner possible.

Space in New York City is really expensive and requires a staff to maintain the space, therefore we do not have a physical shelter location and rely on foster families to care for our cats. We hold adoption events where prospective adopters are able to meet cats and kittens who they are interested in adopting.

In 2018 ALONE, we helped more than 650 cats! Our efforts stretch from rescuing and homing stray cats to TNR’ing feral cats and colony management.

All of our adoptable cats come up to date on vaccinations, neutered/spayed, SNAP tested, de-flead, de-wormed, and microchipped. The cost of our adoption fees go towards vetting all of our rescued cats.
