My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Apricot! Apricot, lovingly referred to as "Squeakers" by Wags staff, due to her adorable squeaky mews, came to Wags and Whiskers with over a dozen other cats from an overwhelmed home that sadly could not control the population of their outside cats. When they realized that they were in too deep, and the cats were starting to get sick, they reached out for help in treating and rehoming these friendly cats. Despite not having lived in the most adequate environment, these cats are friendly as can be, and are rearing to find their perfect forever home, where they can truly shine; these cats deserve a home where they do not have to fight 30 other cats for attention and food. Apricot is far from "just another black cat," she truly stands out in a sea of cats, quietly mewing her squeaky-toy meow, hoping to get any and all extra attention and pets that caretakers can spare the time for; she longs to be in a home where she can finally show her true self, and shine like the diva she was born to be! If you are looking for a new furry friend to add to your family, consider giving one of these cats a second chance at a brand new life! Apply today to meet Apricot, and/or one of her friends, and be a part of their story!

Thank you so much for looking into Wags and Whiskers' The Cat House for the newest addition to your family.

At Wags and Whiskers' The Cat House, we do not discriminate against any animal based on their age, current health, or pre-existing medical condition(s). We are a dedicated team of volunteers, with a strong passion for animals and a very special bond with the injured, abused and abandoned. Due to the fact that we work so closely with qualified veterinarians, we are able, and willing, to take on the most complex medical cases to help give them the chance, that ever animal deserves, at a full, happy and healthy life. Our primary goal is giving hope to the hopeless; your adoption helps make a difference.

All of our cats are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, FIV/FeLV tested, and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.

Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each cat. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left in a box on the side of a road, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners.

Please take into consideration that owning a pet is a 10+ year commitment and discuss with all members of your family before submitting an application to adopt.

If you have already filled out an online adoption application with our organization in the last 6 months you do not need to fill out another application. Please call or email us to schedule an appointment 530-588-1160 If you are interested in meeting this pet please apply to adopt at http://www.wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com/adopt.html if the pet is still available for adoption and you are approved to adopt we will contact you to set up a meet and greet appointment.
