My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Marco!

My foster family affectionately calls me "Little Man." After being left behind by my previous family, a kind lady found me. Now, I'm preparing for a fresh start with a new family! I'm a sweet 3-year-old who loves playing with my foster sister and napping in our shared bed. I'm house-trained, sleep soundly in my crate, and enjoy my meals without being picky. My crate is like my own little house, a cozy retreat. I've even mastered taking heartworm pills without the need for cheese! I'm well-behaved and don't jump on furniture. The groomer even praised me as a good boy after a bath and nail trim. I went to a trainer for a few weeks, and guess what? He's offering FREE TRAINING sessions for my new family, if they're in the DFW area. How awesome is that?

I'd love to share the couch or bed for some snuggle time. If you're looking for a loving buddy, consider applying for me, Marco! I'd be ok with a sibling my size but would really love to be your one-and-only, soaking up all the love and attention. I would do best with older children. Inside the house, I'm calm and content, especially when it's just us. I'm learning that head kisses are good and prefer quiet environments since I can get overwhelmed easily. Can't wait to find my forever family!

Marco is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Additional adoption info

Adopting from The Love Pit means gaining a family member. It means gaining a network of pit bull advocates, ready to support you and provide you with all of the resources we can. Most importantly, adopting from The Love Pit saves lives. When you adopt, you're saving the life of your own dog, opening space in their foster home for another shelter dog in need, and creating space in the shelter kennel for a dog whose life would have otherwise been on the line. Your thanks for all the good you've done? Lots of love and pit bull kisses to enjoy for years to come.

Go meet their pets

We have monthly adoption events at different locations in Dallas and Fort Worth which are announced on our social media pages and will also be posted on our website.

We will also set up an appointment with you to meet the dog of your choosing.

More about this rescue

We are a foster/volunteer based 501c3 nonprofit dog rescue in Dallas, Texas. Our mission is to reduce the number of homeless pit bull type dogs in shelters and on the streets through rescue, rehabilitation, education, and advocacy.

Our goal is to educate the public about a breed that often falls victim to breed specific legislation, discrimination, and cruelty and promote responsible pet ownership through spay/neuter initiatives, vaccinations, and training resources.
