My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age:1

Weight: 118

Location: New Hope, PA

Nicknames: Melly

Good with other dogs?: Yes.
Mel loves all friendly dogs and would benefit from a confident K9 companion.

Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat

Good with children? OK for kids over: 15

Activity Preference: Needs in-house activities, Up for a long hike any day., Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time., Will go with the flow

IQ: Smart

Melody's favorite things: Mel loves snacks, taking walks with her people, learning what toys are, rolling in the grass ans sunshine.

Melody is good at: meeting dogs, behaving in the house, walking on a leash

Ideal home: another dog, quiet environment, someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard

Training Needs: socialization with people

Health issues: Healthy puppy on preventatives and Wellactin

Meet Melody

Mel was brought to a city shelter and was extremely fearful. She is doing much better and with the right home she will continue her confidence building. She is about a year old and house trained, great on a leash, loves other dogs and NEEDS a fenced in yard. We would prefer an adult only home as she is still afraid of loud noises and lots of commotion. A confident dog would be a big plus.

PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Please visit www.AmericanBulldogRescue.org to apply! Remember - Adoption is always the best option! If you can't help by adopting a homeless pet, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to American Bulldog Rescue, 4 Terry Drive, Suite 1D Newtown, PA 18940 or paypal AmericanBulldogRescue@verizon.net. We cannot place dogs in homes with children under 10 unless that dog has lived with kids or is in a foster home with kids. Thank you.

To be considered for adoption, you must apply using our free, online application. Our dogs are fostered in our volunteers' homes, not in a central shelter/location. Only approved applicants are put into contact with the foster family to setup a meeting with the foster dog. Visit our Adoption Policies web page for more information and a link to our application: http://americanbulldogrescue.org/adoption-policies/.

Additional adoption info

To adopt one of our love-a-bull dogs, you must submit an application on our website at www.americanbulldogrescue.org. Applications must meet minimum requirements (policies are listed our site). Applicants have their vet and personal references checked . The next step is a home visit by one of our volunteers. Finally, the applicant will be put in touch with the foster family to arrange to meet the dog! If a happy match is made, the applicants sign an adoption contract and provide an adoption donation. The donation is usually $400.
