My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Teetee was turned into a high kill shelter as a stray at only 4 months old. She was in pretty bad shape with a skin condition and was thin and scared. We saved her and now she is safe. She has been treated for her skin issue but was diagnosed with congenital valvular pulmonic stenosis that she was born with. She has been seen by a cardiologist and the good news is that she does not show any clinical signs and she will just need lifelong medication to maintain blood flow through the heart. She will need annual checkups with a cardiologist as well. Teetee is a happy little dog that is now about 11 months old and weighs 6 pounds and is full grown. She gets along with most dogs but there are some she barks at and does not want to be around. She is also good with cats and young kids. Teetee is also in need of a foster home.

The first step in our adoption process is to complete an adoption application on our main website prior to coming to meet the animal(s) you are interested in. The application can be found at www.smoochpoochrescue.com and will give us an idea if the animal will be a good match for you, your family and lifestyle. We also require an adoption contract, adoption fee and home visit. We DO NOT operate on a first come basis but rather the best suited home for our animals.

We are NOT a shelter, we are a small private non-profit animal rescue organization run by volunteers. We do not have an actual facility and we do not have operating hours. All of our dogs are in foster homes until their forever homes are found. We show our dogs by appointment but you must first complete an adoption application on our website. We make an effort to place our dogs in the best matched home rather than a first come basis.

We are a non-profit animal rescue organization. We rescue dogs from high kill shelters, many of them the day they are to be euthanized and give them a second chance at life. We also rescue stray dogs and abandoned animals and find loving homes for them.
