My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi friends! My name is Washington. Aren't I gorgeous? (I'm not vain it's just true. )I'm an 8-year-old Bichon who weighs 13-pounds. I act like a pup still, but, my teeth all rotted out of my head. Never fear, I still have two teeth left, and I eat normal food. I'm great with kids and other dogs, and even the foster cat. But, goodness I can't resist an open door. My last home, the kiddos loved to play outside. They'd forget and accidentally let me outside when I wasn't supposed to be. I kept getting lost, and they decided I should go somewhere with more security to contain my exploring tendencies. Could you be my new pawrent?? I am potty and crate trained, and I like children!

More about this rescue

Thank you for your interest in adopting a senior Chihuahua. We appreciate each and every one of you!

If you fall in love with any of our adoptables, please fill out an application here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog
You will receive an automatic confirmation e-mail if your app was sent properly.

Let us know if you have any issues or additional questions by private messaging the page here, or by e-mailing deebysrescue@gmail.com . Please, no phone calls. We operate solely with the help of volunteers. All of whom have kids, pets, and full-time jobs. Thank-you for your patience with the adoption process.

If the dog has not been marked as adopted, then he/she is still available. Though, there may be multiple apps in process. We do not operate on a first come, first serve basis. We attempt to find the best fit for each dog, and each approved family. If you are approved, but not chosen for your first dog of choice, please don’t despair. Your love match is out there!

All dogs are in loving foster homes. Thus, we will only arrange meetings with approved adopters.

All of your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, on heart worm prevention year round, and spayed/neutered. Unless, your current veterinarian has explicitly said that something may not be performed due to the health issues of your pet. These circumstances will have to be confirmed with your vet.

We will adopt out-of-state. However, we will not ship dogs. You will have to come and pick up your baby in Illinois. We have several major airports nearby, including one right here in Bloomington.

Once again, thank you for loving the tiny seniors as much as we do! Please continue to share our posts so that each baby may find their forever home. ❤️It takes a village to save lives.
