Bellatrix is a beautiful 3-1/2 year old female Pit Bull Terrier/Blue Heeler mix who was brought to the HSOV on August 12, 2023 by a Good Samaritan after she was found on Lydia Road in the Little Hocking Ohio area about two weeks earlier. That family tried in vain to locate her family before bringing her to us in hopes that we could help find her way home.
Bellatrix has a sleek black short smooth coat, a large patch of white/blue ticking on her chest, white/black paws, a cute short tail, and a pretty face with dark brown eyes, a white stripe on her forehead, and short semi-erect ears.
The family who kept Bellatrix provided information that they had learned about her while she was at their home:
Bellatrix is not good (but not really bad) with cats. She is not good with female dogs but is okay with male dogs. Bellatrix was being fed raw food. She listens pretty well and saying "Bella" in a high pitch voice gets her attention. She is super sweet and loves belly rubs as well as treats.
Bellatrix was indeed very sweet and loved attention. She is a happy girl who loves everyone she meets.
She is a 'chunky' full-figured girl who tipped the scales at 72.6 lbs. Bellatrix is energetic on a leash.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Bellatrix was held for three days so that her family would have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership. Surprisingly nobody called or came looking for this special girl.
These photos were taken on October 20, 2023 when Bellatrix participated in our HSOV Halloween Mini-Photo Sessions. This little beauty queen looked adorable in her Bunny costume when she wore large white-and-pink fluffy bunny ears and a tiny white 'pom pom' cottontail on her derriere .. So it seemed appropriate to resurrect those pictures to post on Easter weekend 2024.
Bellatrix has participated in off-site outings recently with HSOV volunteers and had done herself proud. Bellatrix enjoys car rides and strolling through local pet-friendly business establishments.
Bellatrix has been waiting patiently for the past eight months for someone to fulfill her dream of a home with a family who would pamper and spoil her to her heart's content in exchange for unconditional love and loyalty.
Bellatrix could be fostered with an approved HSOV Adoption/Foster Application.
