My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**READ FULL DESCRIPTION** Ace will need a dedicated owner willing to work with his fear based aggression to be the best he can be. This spunky little guy deserves it! Ace was surrendered to us when his owner could no longer care for him.  We have gotten to know Ace over the past month in a Kiss My Paws foster home, and here are some things about him.

Ace requires an understanding and predictable home environment to help him manage and recover from his fear based aggression.  Ace is hyper vigilant, and when he feels something is amiss he will give a warning growl and then may snarl and even lunge/charge at a nearby person in order to try to control his environment.  When he recovers from a behavioral episode his caretakers can see in his demeanor that he is ready again to interact and keep building on positive behaviors. Ace takes trazodone and cbd oil to help him with his emotions, but may be a good candidate for exploring different medicines to help him as he progresses.

Ace “guards” his toys and leashes at times, but he is workable in trading for different items and cleaning out his stash to be re-earned.  Ace shows no resource guarding of food at all and has no reaction to his foster sibling coming into his space and eating uneaten food, etc.  Ace prefers to sleep in a crate.

BASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:
Good with Children: Teens and Older due to understanding of his needs
Good with Dogs: Yes of like size - lives with another small dog
Good with Cats: Unknown
