My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poppyseed is an extremely sweet boy who loves being loved and is starting to feel safe loving you back! He’s still very skittish - people were clearly a source of immense danger for him in the past - but he’s doing an amazing job learning how to trust again. As of right now he’ll bolt if I try to approach him somewhere where he doesn’t feel safe but when he is somewhere he feels safe he *absolutely loves being petted* and is starting to show me affection by rubbing against my legs after only a few weeks.

He loves other cats so much and definitely needs to go to a home where he’ll have at least one friend. Poppyseed is extremely patient with other cats as well, my girl cat hissed at him constantly for a week and he never once hissed back or reacted in any way. He’s been very playful/affectionate with my boy cat as well and all three have become pals. I also have a small dog as well that he has been tolerating.
Last but not least Poppyseed is one of the most well behaved cats I have ever had live with me!

More about this rescue

Puppy Kitty NYC was founded in the Fall of 2014. As of July 2018, we are an official 501(c)(3) organization. We focus on three aspects: First, finding homes for abandoned or friendly street cats and kittens. Secondly, attempting to control animal overpopulation by spaying and neutering feral cats and helping the sick and injured. Thirdly, fostering is a must.
