My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya! I'm Simon and I'm a big ol' hunk of love waiting for you to take me home. I love to relax all day and then rest afterwards though I will occasionally play with a cat nip toy...I do like the nip! I have the svelte, physique of an indoor cat and I'm deeply committed to food, naps, and ear scratches. I've lived with dogs and would love to find a person or family to call my own, again. Come visit me at Woods in Atascadero!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1955, Woods Humane Society is a nonprofit organization which receives no tax funds, but is supported by donations, grants, bequests, fundraising events and fees for services. Woods is independent of San Luis Obispo County Animal Services, but works in close cooperation with them and other animal groups in the county for the welfare of all animals.

Woods now cares for over 3,000 cats and dogs each year at our facilities in San Luis Obispo and Atascadero until they can be united with loving forever families. We bring in animals from other shelters where they are less likely to be adopted and from individuals who are no longer able to care for their pets. Woods is committed to finding loving homes for all healthy and treatable pets, no matter how long it takes. With our behavior and veterinary resources, we are able to go the extra mile for animals in need.
