My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet sweet and tiny Flora.

Flora was rescued from a horrendous animal hoarding situation in November of 2023.  There were as estimated 100 cats living in an empty home covered with feces and urine.  Roughly 1/3 of the cats in the house had lost their eyes due to rampant eye infections and injuries. Most of them were terrified.  Paws Across Pittsburgh worked with other local rescues to get these cats out of this terrible situation.

Flora is a tiny four pound female estimated to be around 10 years old.  She was discovered limping around the house because she had ulcers on her paws as a result of walking through all of the waste in the home.  She had stomatitis and severe dental disease, causing her tremendous pain when trying to eat.  Flora had an upper respiratory infection and was found to be FIV positive.

Fast forward 5 months and Flora is healthy and happy!  She is spayed and has had several teeth removed.  She loves attention from her foster family and has the loudest purr ever heard.  We are considering reaching out to the Guinness Book of World Records!  Flora loves to play and gets the zoomies several times a day.  She is becoming braver with her affection and will now climb into your lap.  Flora will still briefly hide when nervous or meeting new people.  It's important to remember that she lived in a fight or flight state all her life as all of those cats had to fight to survive with the limited resources they had.

Flora is ready to find her forever home.  She would do best in a quiet, loving, stress free home to counteract her time spent in fear and filth.  Don't let the FIV positive status scare you off - FIV positive cats typically live a normal life span!

This sweet, tiny girl deserves the VERY best in life.  If you are looking for a tiny sweetheart with the world's loudest purr, Flora is the one for you!
