My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hitch's journey started with hardship but his heart is full of love and joy! Rescued from rural Missouri, where he was chained and padlocked with only two feet of freedom, Hitch has transformed into the epitome of a loving, friendly, and affectionate dog. This happy-go-lucky boy wiggles his whole body with excitement to greet everyone he meets. He's a lover, not a barker, and gets along famously with people, dogs, and even cats! Hitch loves attention and affection, which he returns tenfold. He is so gentle with little dogs (even a small puppy weighing just 3lbs!) and plays great with big dogs! He's seriously the BEST doggie friend you'd could ever want! Hitch is also quite happy relaxing on the floor next to you or cuddled on the couch! He LOVES his people, being next to them, giving kisses and getting lots of pets. Hitch is housebroken, crate-trained, and ready to be the perfect companion for hikes, cuddles, or backyard adventures! A fenced yard is required due to his wandering past, and for his love of doing zoomies and chasing his dog friends. Another dog buddy would be a bonus, but not necessary. If you're ready for a loyal, forever best friend who will fill your home and life with unconditional love, cuddles, and endless tail wags, Hitch is your guy! He is a 2 1/2 year old Black Lab / Border Collie ready to meet his forever family! More about this rescue

We rescue dogs and cats in our community that have been abandoned, neglected or surrendered. We provide veterinary care, safe shelter and adopt them to permanent loving homes. We are committed to the ethical treatment of animals, promoting spay and neuter to end overpopulation and unwanted animals, reuniting missing pets with their owners and educating pet owners on the importance of proper veterinary care.

Our foster based rescue cares for dogs and cats that are in need of loving homes. By placing animals in foster homes we are providing a safe, happy and secure environment which will help them adjust to family life and prepare them for adoption. We believe that opening your heart and home to a rescue pet by fostering and/or adopting is one of life’s most rewarding experiences.
